These injuries are quiet common in athletes due to continuous stress and strain to the group of muscles seen at the front and back of the thigh. The symptoms of the injury can vary from mild discomfort on the side affected, severe pain and all the way up to loss of function of the muscles involved in the injury. Based on the severity of the injury they are classified into 4 grades. Injuries up to grade 2 can be managed well with Ayurvedic treatments.
Like in every other soft tissue injury, the line of management is to, initially, reduce the inflammation and then strengthen the muscles. The appropriate ayurvedic medicines and therapies used to reduce the inflammation will facilitate the natural repair of the damages happened to the soft tissues. This is then followed by the medicines and therapies to strengthen the muscles.
