All the guests staying at Nagarjuna is given a printed copy every evening mentioning their treatment schedule for the subsequent day. Usually the day of a guest staying at Nagarjuna starts with a Herbal Decoction as an internal medicine at 6.00 A.M. Internal medicines mainly consist of Kwaths i.e. herbal decoction (Kashayams), which helps to burn toxins and purify the body. This detoxifying decoction will also help to cure the disease. Internal medicines will be served 4 to 5 times every day
At 7.00 a.m. the guests are served with a special Kerala tea and thereafter breakfast at 8.00 A.M. Breakfast is usually served up to 9.30.a.m.. The Menus for breakfast include various Kerala dishes like Puttu , Iddli , Idiyappam , Dosa etc..
After breakfast (minimum 30 minutes interval) the guest will be given external therapies. The treatments will be done in the treatment rooms specially designed for this purpose.
According to the nature of the treatment, the duration may vary between 60 -90 minutes.
Before noon, the main external therapies will be over which may include abhyanga (massage with medicated oil), Elakizhi (leaf bag massage), Podikizhi (powder bag massage), Pizhichil (oil bath), Njavara kizhi (rice bag massage) etc. All these treatments are included under pre and post process of Panchakarma . All the doctors at the center will visit the guests in their rooms for clinical rounds and check ups.
From 12.30 P.M onwards lunch will be served in the dining hall. Specially designed Kerala Vegetarian dishes will be served (according to the ayurveda regimens and classical texts)
The doctors will decide the type of food for each guest and clearly instruct the canteen staff to make food accordingly.
In the afternoon the guests will be provided with local ayurvedic treatments like Siro Dhara (Pouring of with medicated oil on the forehead in a rhythm for around 45 minutes), Lepanam (application of herbal paste on the affected parts in the body), Inhalation, Nasyam which is one of the Panchakarma treatments, (Nasal administration of medicated oil drops) etc..
During the interval between treatments guests can use our well-stocked Library.
We organize Ayurvedic Classes (basic lessons), classes on Philosophy and Ayurvedic Cooking Classes (some simple dishes which the guests can easily prepare any where in the world)
We provide Yoga classes in the evenings on all week days under expert guidance
There will be meditation (As per the advice of Chief Physician) classes in the morning and evening sessions of all weekends. Moreover for interested persons our experts also conduct personal meditation (As per the advice of Chief Physician) and counseling sessions at their convenience.
A guest manual is kept in every room which clearly states the details about the dos and don'ts during the treatment. All the guests staying at Nagarjuna are supposed to strictly adhere the doctors' instructions for getting optimum results out of the treatments.
